Typically, your technician will complete this service whenever you replace your brake pads, though some manufacturers recommend flushing the fluid every two to three years, regardless of the condition of other brake components.
Brake Pad Replacement

This causes them to wear down over time, resulting in the need for replacement. You'll typically need to replace your brake pads about every 50,000 miles, though your driving habits and road conditions will play a role as well.
Brake Rotor Resurfacing and Replacement
The rotors wear down from all that pressure as well, though you likely won't need to replace them every time you change your brake pads. If you change the pads before they start grinding on the rotors, you may be eligible for rotor resurfacing, which can save you a lot of money on replacement costs over time. You'll still need to replace the rotors periodically, though, so be prepared to complete this service as needed.
